CNC turning from a single part to series production

We manufacture turned parts to your drawing, from a single prototype to series parts from bar stock. Turn-mill centres with sub-spindle machine even complex parts in one or a few setups.

Turning along the contour

  • Outer contour with shoulders, grooves and thread
  • Bores and milled faces with driven tools
  • Sub-spindle for machining the back
  • Series parts from bar stock

Example geometry for illustration, not a customer part.

Complete machining instead of re-clamping

The Gildemeister GMX 200S Linear turn-mill centre works with a main and a sub-spindle and a swivelling milling head with B axis. The Biglia B650YS brings a Y axis, a sub-spindle and driven tools. Your part is turned, milled and drilled from both sides without changing machines.

  • Fewer setups and therefore higher accuracy
  • Off-centre bores and milled faces directly on the lathe
  • Shorter set-up times for single parts and small batches
  • Milling spindle with B axis (swivel range 240°) and tool magazine with 36 pockets on the GMX 200S, according to the manufacturer's data for the series

Series parts from bar stock

For recurring turned parts there are two Dainichi lathes with bar feeder, the F25 and the F15. They work automated and without interruption and are designed for high repeat accuracy in series production.

Measured before it reaches you

We check shafts up to 50 mm in diameter on the TESA Scan 50 shaft measuring machine and complex parts on the Wenzel LH 65 coordinate measuring machine. If you need it, we supply the inspection report with the parts.

CNC turning: short answers

What does CNC turning at Steindl involve?
Steindl Metallverarbeitung manufactures turned parts to customer drawings in Durlangen on CNC lathes and turn-mill centres. Turning, milling, drilling and threading are done in one setup wherever possible.
Which turned parts can be manufactured?
Simple to complex rotationally symmetric parts, also with milled faces, off-centre bores and threads. Shafts up to 50 mm in diameter can be checked on the shaft measuring machine.
Are single turned parts possible?
Yes. Manufacturing starts at a quantity of one, for example for prototypes and spare parts.
Are small batches and series possible?
Yes. Small batches are made on the turn-mill centres, series parts from bar stock on two lathes with bar feeder.
Where are the turned parts manufactured?
In the company's own production hall in Durlangen near Schwäbisch Gmünd, in the Ostalbkreis district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
How do I send an inquiry for turned parts?
Through the inquiry form with a drawing or CAD file, material, quantity and requested date, by e-mail to info@steindlgmbh.de or by phone on +49 7176 9979866.
